AND here we have proof that crime makes you stupid. In a place like Texas where its not only pretty common for people to be armed but OK with law enforcement when said armed person blows away would be robber, what would make a person rob a donut store of all places.
One less idiot to be booked and put in jail.

I liked this quote by the Fort Worth defense attorney.
"We're a gun toting state. We have a lot of John Wayne in our blood. We're gonna shoot first and ask questions later."

Well,u... with a Texan,u get the horns...
However, attorney's comments are politically incorrect. Texans are " law & order" people,as every American should be,not " gun -totting "...
Guns are just tools for self-defence...

I heard a Texas DA say one time with reference to someone who had been shot this way say he "needed killin". I like the attitude personally but people in other states don't always understand.

That's exactly the idea.
The Texan spirit, tough on justice, dynamic, active has to be...exported to people in other states ,who are soft on crime & punishment.

See why Texas can look so attractive to people around the country? This is just one of many reasons I'm moving to Texas. The gun laws in my state are horrible and getting worse as the death toll of by-standers goes up. The solution....more laws that unarm citizens.
The right thing would be to stay here and fight for my rights but there is the "kicking a dead horse" concept that I'm applying here. I believe an armed society is a polite society.
The only question about the story I have is don't police hang out in donut shops in Texas? Just how stupid was this robber?

The alarming lesson from that story is that ...
a) If it happened in another state, probably noone would risk to rescue the lady
b) The robber would probably kill her
c) Not only the murderer would not receive the non-existing in 14 states death penalty but
d) he would probably get parole after 25 years...so that he could kill again...
