I would suggest (in no particular order):

Hurst,
Bedford
North Richland Hills
Keller

There are many many more. Focus on Northeast Tarrant County.

what is your price range and size of house?
Where in FT worth is work?

you might want to add Eagle mtn/Saginaw area as well.

to the west a large part of west ft worth goes to Keller schools and also Northwest school district. Both very good.

I wouldn't want to live in NE Tarrant County because the traffic is so bad. NE Loop 820 is a disaster. Other than that, I like it. I would much prefer the NW or SW part of the county.

Keller might be a great choice for you. There are lots of brand new homes going up that are quite affordable, energy efficient, and convenient to shopping centers and Walmarts. Keller ISD is an exemplary school district. Parts of north Keller belong to Northwest ISD, which is by most accounts a good district as well. The traffic into FW along I35W is getting more congested with all the new building going on. But it's a growing area and many of the communities are very well planned. Plus you can find some nice homes with a little acreage if that floats your boat! We've still got plenty of small horse farms in the area.

You do want to avoid having to drive on the part of 820 that is between 377 and 183 for your daily commute. It is only 2 lanes and backs up very bad.

But the rest of NE Tarrant doesn't have horrible traffic! I drive from Grapevine to NRH every day for work, and it rarely takes more than 20 minutes! I love the convenience of having everything I need right here.

Well, I used to teach in White Settlement schools and personnally I would recommend Eagle Mountain-Saginaw, where I also worked. But if you want to locate west of town I would also check out Aledo. The people we know that live out there love it. I also have family in the North Richland Hills area and it is wonderful. Just stay off of Loop 820 and use 121 instead to get into Fort Worth.
