Thanks a lot loves2read. My husband is very impressed at how people respond and try to help out. I will look into that recommended link. You are right about the real estate agent, but he needs to have somebody looking for him and that way when he gets there in a couple of weeks, he will have some places to look at. If this really happens and we open up the Bakery, I really would love to invite all the people that have responded trying to help us out, to have a free pastry. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little scare about the whole thing, but I guess we would never know if we don't try it!!
I think that it is also the fact that we are going to be leaving all of our good friends of years. I hope that wherever we buy our house we can make some good friends as we are friedly people. I'm planing in getting involved in the kids's schools and with their sports.

What do you mean by the inside the 820 loop?
Is that a safe area that you know off?
Do you know the zip codes for that area?
Sorry for all the questions and thanks again

Keller has the most growth potential, especially in Heritage. There are a ton of homes and a limited amount of shops in the immediate area. Most people have to go to 377, which can have a lot of traffic at times.
Since you are relocating, you will also need somewhere to live, and I would recommend Southlake first and Keller second. If you need any more help, please let me know.

the 820 Loop ringss around FTW (mainly) and some of its suburbs--most of the area inside the Loop is older -- downtown FTW has had big surge of residential condos building and had great Sundance Sq and the Stockyards Historical area with shopping/entertainment/restaurants...
but most of the residential areas inside the Loop are older and some of them are definitely ghetto...
there are areas outside the Loop that are not so nice as well--but most of the growth has been outside the Loop--Keller, North Richland Hills, Southlake, Trophy Club, Haslet--all of those towns are outside the loop
Look at a map of FTW and start to get familiar with these names and their locations...
one of the posts on this board was about a crime map
find it and check out the info it has

I like Keller and Southlake to live based on the information that we have gathered, but we are also looking for the best area where the Bakery will be opened. We are looking as I said before for an area close to Keller where Hispanics could have access to the Bakery but that it is a safe area. We don't want to open up the business in a unsafe area where there is a lot a crime and gang activity.

I already found the crime map and it helped a lot, but the people that live in those areas have a better idea of what really goes on in their area. I was looking at the Haltom and North Richard Hills. Are those areas easy to access by the people that lice more inside the 820 loop??

Coppell could use a bakery like that, for sure. The only downside is that it is a smaller community than the others you are looking at.

NOrth Richland Hills would be good.
I don't Haltom would be the best place for a high end bakery.
Look at Watauga (just south of Keller) there is a ton of new shopes on 377...world market, pier one, etc... Watauga has 10% hispanic and it's right south of Keller and just west of NOrth Richland hills so you would pull customers from those areas as well. Lots of Drive by traffic for advertising etc...

read what the FTW business journal has to say about marketing to Hispanic segment
http://www.fwbusinesspress.com/display.php?id=8386
this link to the FTW Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has index of businesses--notice that there is NO listing under bakery--might be some and they are just not listed--but...could mean there is opportunity there...
if you look under REAL ESTATE (R) -- there are several offices listed--some of them might be more knowledgeable about Hispanic segment of market place...
Fort Worth Hispanic
this is link to development in south part of FTW off I-35 that is marketing itself in definite appeal to Hispanic segment -- and others
La Gran Plaza...Tu Plaza!
I see restaurants but no bakeries...
there is this Esparanza's bakery/cafe in the Stockyards area of North FTW mentioned and there is another location as well
in Stockyards area there are other restaurants beside the many Tex Mex ones
Mosey on down to the Stockyards for great dining | Living | Star-Telegram.com (broken link)
MARQUEZ BAKERY is pretty famous in the Grand Prairie/ Arlington area --they have two locations and have been in business a long time...
Marquez Bakery and Tortilla Factory Inc., Texas
When I worked in Arlington I went there pretty often to buy pan dulces and tortas--

I looked up La Gran Plaza, but it is in a rough area. I go to Mansfield often and I remember that we went to that area to a big Hispanic Supermarket and the Marquez Bakery I don't think would be to close the the South Keller area.
