call the Grapevine or Keller chamber of commerce.
I will be attending a Commercial Real Estate Diversity Council meeting next week and I will see what kind of information they have for you.
I also belong to the Women's Business Council SW and the DFW Minority Business Council. I will call both councils and see if some fellow members can give me any insight for you.
I live in Grapevine and my buisness is located there as well. I lived in Keller when I first moved here from Chicago a few years back. I think your best bet will be either Keller or Grapevine for the bakery depending on which town has the better location for your bakery.
I must agree that Keller is very up and coming and I think that is where you will get the most bang for your business buck.
Schools in Grapevine are fine for the ages of your children. Also, I think there are better places to rent apartments in Grapevine than in Keller

Thanks a lot chitowngal!
What type of business do you have in Grapevine?
How long long have you lived and TX?
Do you think that if we open it at Keller we should be able to pull enough of the HIspanic Community?
Are there a lot of people from Chitown around those areas?
Is there a specific Sports bar where people get together when the Bears are playing??
Sorry for all the questions!

I am in commercial construction
Been in Texas almost 6 years.
Keller has a diverse population and you will pull Hispanics, but initiall the other demograohics will serve you well. Hispanics will travel to you once you are up and running and the word has spread. Zkeller is easy to get to from other communities that have a large hsioanic population.
Chicago people are EVERYWHERE!!!
You can watch the games at Windy City Grill in Keller.
Ask away with the questions. if I dont know the answer, I know many people that I can ask.

Thanks a lot
Do you still miss Chicago or you got over it?
Texas is like my second home after Chicago, but I know that it is still going to be hard.
I really appreciate all the help that we are getting from people that we don't know and still take the time to answer. This web site is really helping us!

I was in Chicago for 31 years birn and raised.
Since I love to travel the world I do not so much miss Chicago as much as some of my friends do.
I go home once a year. I was just there two weeks ago9 for Jazz fest and a Family function.
I might miss Chicago, but I miss Paris more.

I meant that the Marquez Bakery was not close to Keller for competition. I did not think that you meant that Gran Plaza was close to Keller. I looked it up in a map and that is how I realized that I was there before and went to La Fiesta Supermarket.

East of West side of 377 in regads to traffic?
We are looking at some possible sites for the Bakery and some are on the West and some on the east side of 377.
Which area would be easier to access for people comming from North Richland Hills, Watauga, Haltom City and FW?
I looked at the map, but I know that traffic can be really different because of house construction, traffic lights and rail road tracks.
Thanks in advance

without knowing what sites you are referring to that is like asking what came first the chicken or the egg...
hwy 377 has construction going on and traffic will be difficult on it in some areas for year or more
regarding other roads--I think that it just depends on where you start from and want to end up
there are several different ways to go back and forth in the Mid-Cities and depending on the time of day I might choose one over the other...and come back a different way...
I have driven up Beach St (turns into Alta Vista) from Belknap in FTW all the way into Keller before and it is long drive time-wise because of lights but it is a straight shot--
would think you would want a major artery vs smaller surface road just because of traffic count
1709 in Southlake turns into Golden Triangle once it crosses 377
North Tarrant is major drive--lots of traffic--but it has not been developed all the way along it...and part of it won't have commercial/retail space because of the way housing has been done...
Mid-Cities turns into Wautaga Rd and then into Western Center--another strong cross street
Beech is N/S street that runs all the way into Fort Worth and Hwy 121/the Airport Frwy...and goes all the way north into Keller and eventually runs into Hwy170--Alliance Gateway Freeway north of
Rufe Snow is another major N/S street--with plenty of strip mall frontage
Blue Mound Rd is another big N/S street--not that familiar with the types of commercial/retail businesses long it
I am not very familiar with the Haslet area and the surface streets west of 35

Thanks Loves2 read
I was just asking because we have been looking at some locations on the internet, but my husband will be there soon and will be looking at some locations with the agent who is putting together a list of possible sites. Once we have some locations that we are concidering it will be easier to get a better idea as to the traffic issue.
I saw one that I liked that has a Subway and a grill place next to it. My husband is thinking that the people that go to Subway are the ones that are watching their weight, I don't really agree as I eat there a lot and yea is good for the waist line, but I go becasue it is fresh and I like it.
What do you think?
Also, I may be wrong but I think that I read in another blog that you are a teacher.
If I'm wrong I'm sorry, if not what do you think as far as teaching in a elementary school. I'm talking about my daughter, she is going to take the certification test in a couple of weeks to teach as a bilingual teacher, but her major was in English Literature. SHe eventually wants to go back to school to get her masters and teach in a college. WOuld you go to the Dallas area or FW?
Thanks again
