DFW area has some large ISDs--FTW and Dallas are two largest--Dallas ISD just had major budget problem with overspending by like 50 million dollars--they might very well start to lay off personnel...
the suburban districts like Lewisville, Southlake/Carroll, HEB, Birdville ISD, Coppell, Northwest are probably the top tier
then Eagle Mtn Saginaw. Aledo, Mansfield,
Arlington ISD and Grand Prairie ISD are two large districts between Dallas and FTW--and Denton ISD is north of FTW

smaller districts in the area like Argyle ISD north of FTW don't pay as much as the larger districts...
some of them pay over 45K a year---but they are very difficult to get a job--
there is not lot of teacher turnover and there are always student teachers on campus who often get first crack at jobs that come available...

All teachers in TX need to have the ELS certification now--so that is nothing special, just expected---

there are many colleges in the DFW area--private universities like SMU, University of Dallas and TCU, large state schools like UNT in Denton and UTA in Arlington and
UT-Dallas...there are also strong community colleges in each county...
gettting a job as a college-level teacher can be even more difficult than secondary jobs...often you wind up teaching as part-time without benefits...
