Default Web Sites for School Info

The Texas Education Agency maintains a series of regional offices that cover TX and interface with local school districts in that region. Region 11 which serves Tarrant co districts and those around it is located in north Forth Worth.
If you have trouble cutting/pasting these links--Google for Region XI (eleven) TEA and the main web link should come up--click on the map link and the one for school districts which gives each district in Region 11---Dallas region has the same type of information about those east of Tarrant Co--like Irving and Grand Prarie

{There are several lakes in this area which are not shown on the map and can make what looks like an easy commute not really possible. So check an actual map as well: Lake Lewisville, Lake Grapevine, Eagle Mtn. Lake, Lake Arlington, and Joe Poole Lake are 5 in region 11's area than can affect traffic patterns to and from work}

This link is to a map showing the school districts within each neighboring county...be aware that cities and school districts don't always have the same boundaries. For example, Hurst contains at least 3--HEB ISD--Grapevine-Colleyville--Birdville ISD within the city limits. Also, a a school district is not always named by the towns it serves either---like Northwest ISD---so things are confusing to someone new to the state usually...

This is the page containing links to all districts in Region 11. You can access each district's own web site--some are more sophisticated and informative than others, but hopefully you can find much of what you are interested in like school sizes, addresses, TAKS scores, extracurricular activities and special classes offered....There should be a link showing the school district's report card which is the TAKS scores --like Regent's Exams in NY...
FYI--TAKS Social Studies test is probably easiest--only 100 multiple choice questions on 10 and 11th grade test....Science and Math more difficult because of the complexity of the reading demanded for processing the questions as well as the subject matter knowledge....English 10th and 11 and in other grades as well is the most difficult of the 4 tests....demands an essay as well as reading comprehension for mutiple choice and short answer questions over two literature excerpts and some type of art work connecting to both...
