Default Looking for "reliable Babysitting" in Southlake / Colleyville?

Hi,

I'm new to board. We recently moved to Southlake (Timarron) and I've been desperately looking for a babysitter...I've used the typical neighboors (girl next door) thing, but after she cancelled on me several times in the last minute, I just had enough.....

We used to live in NYC, and we had a great service there. It was this company that sent us babysitters at any time we needed one....we paid a little more for the service than a regular babysitter per huor, but it was definitely worth it.....Is there anything like this in this area?

Please HELP!!!!

SouthlakeMommy,
We were in the same boat as you a few months ago. We had tried several babysitters from the subdivision we live in. Some were reliable, others not so much…..After we decided to stay in Colleyville (We almost moved to Houston), we ended up finding out about this babysitting service in Colleyville that is similar to the one you mentioned in NYC. It is called GS Sitters. The owner is ultra nice and we have been using the service for about a month now.
I think they also serve Southlake and Keller, besides Colleyville. We use them mainly to pick our kids from school and to stay with them for a few hours until both of us get home. It works great. Even when our preferred sitter is sick or unavailable one day, they send us a replacement. The best thing about it is that they are all CPR certified and Background Checked….although I would background check them myself….!
If you call them, tell the owner that Pam sent you!! Their number is 817-8748449.

Thank you so much Zimba!

I called them (GS Sitters) this morning, this is exactly like the service we used in NYC, only cheaper . I can't thank you enough. We will be having our first babysitter come in tomorrow!

I'll make sure to report back how I like it!

Thanks again!!!

Just wanted to report back as I mentioned above since I think this is something that a lot of new moms in the area are looking for.

The service worked out great. This has been a time saver for us. We used them 3 times already and could not be happier. The lady that runs the service is real nice. If anyone wants more info on my experience, please feel free to PM me. I do not like to discuss these things in public.

I understand that the Colleyville ISD has classes in how to babysit--similar I guess to what my area Y used to do for girls--
we took granddaughters of our friend with us to movie yesterday--they are in 6th grade--and they said they were going to sign up for that at their school--one of them has a neighbor who wants her to babysit at times during the summer...
so don't know if you would want to contact Colleyville ISD about a list of students or the teacher who teaches that class for more info....

Hello Southlake Mommy,
Thank you for posting the results of your experience. My husband and I are relocating to the Keller area from Long Island NY this summer. With two small children, 14 months and 5 1/2 yrs, there is so much to learn and think about. Part time child care is just one of many. If you would not mind, I would love to hear more of your relocation experience. How long are you in Texas? How old are your children? I also feel this site may be a little to public. My email address is darkar3441@aol.com.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks!

Dakar344,

We moved to Southlake 7 months ago as my husband was transferred to his company's Dallas location.
We lived in NYC for 1.5 years. Prior to that we lived in upstate NY. We have a 4 year old. It was definitely a good move. We could not see ourselves raising our son in the City. But I do miss a lot of things NYC had to offer. If you want to know to more please PM me.
