starting salary in HEB ISD is almost 48K a year for first yr teacher...
the district pays above state minimum--most in this area that are a middle-large district do
the smaller outlying districts probably don't pay more than 1K above--just depends...
using 820 to get around to ISDs on the east side of Tarrant co is not good idea--horrible freeway once you get east of Jacksboro Hwy area...so Eagle Mtn/Saginaw and/or Azle is probably as far as I would go--to northeast
Maybe Northwest around Haslet
going through downtown on 30 east or on 121/183 is probably not that bad IF you get jump on traffic...coming back will be longer--Arlington ISD and HEB have schools that are S of 183 which would be easier commute
GrapevineColleyville ISD and Southlake Carroll ISD and Keller are not that easy to get too...
Burleson and Aledo--south and west are better choices than Crowley who built two schools but may not have money to staff them...
Castleberry/White Settlement ISD--Fort Worth ISD--of course are the closest...
this is the web link to Region XI TEA map with all public ISDs in the area--click on the district to get its web site
some of them list jobs only through Region XI job site--some list on their own webs--just depends...

there is also a link/map for charter schools, private schools
job fairs are happening in March--you can check out the districts' web pages and see about dates
many principals won't know their actual budgets for staffing in the spring...some of them will have vacancies that open up in June/July/August right before school because some people return their contracts signed but then for variety of reasons turn in resignation a few weeks/days before school actually opens--
or they find out at registration they have more kids coming than anticipated and have to get another teacher for overflow grades...
this year some schools are probably asking for exemptions on class sizes to put 1 or 2 more students in lower elementary vs opening a new class with a new teacher and having 16 vs 22 in each one
in this area math and science upper elementary seems to be the hot item as well as bilingual and special needs...have seen currently some postings for things like art/music teachers or other flavors but it varies by district...
your technology skills may be good factor to stress on your resume...your technology certification is good--that is big item in most local schools --all districts have tech people that do installs, instruct on software--most of them are teachers who moved up from the classroom...
most districts around here have required that their teachers have ESL certification whether or not they are teaching an ESL class because of all the students that are non-English at home...that is obtained through classes offered through the district and you take a state test...
you will also have to get your provisional certification from TEA and then get certified within your first year...
