What do you dislike about Fort Worth?
I would like to hear your complaints about Fort Worth to help me decide if the area would be right for me.

The only thing I hate about this city is that it doesn't feel as advanced as the other cities in Texas.
No big skyline; No major pro sports team; no recognition; no respect....no respect at all!
Other than that, it's a great city. There are very little complaints about "Panther City".

Sounds great, I think if somebody wants that they can move to Dallas or elsewhere.

Actually, if you live here in Ft. Worth, you practically live in Dallas, too . Which sucks by the way .

I wonder if you live anywhere near Dallas, I mean within 100 miles would that be too near. I thinking of Tolar, Hood County, perhaps too near Dallas with all the disadvantages.

The gangs of the dangerous northside and the hoodlums of the eastside.
Otherwise, I luv Cowtown.....a much more relaxed pace than Big D

only bad thing about Ft Worth is that it's too close to Dallas. oh and of course like lifer said about the small pockets of bad neighborhoods, but what city doesnt have that.......i NEVER had any real complaints about Ft Worth..i loved every minute of it..and if i had to live in a "city", that would be at the top of my list!

If I had to list my complaints I would say:
1. The weather:the summer is miserable with the heat and humidity and we really don't have seasons...it's just really hot in the summer and warm the rest of the year except for a month or maybe two
2. The metroplex is huge which means lots of pollution and lots of sickness~especially if you have kids
3. It's flat and just really has no natural beauty
That being said, I also want to say that in general people here are very friendly and you just need to know where the good areas are to stay away from the rough neigborhoods that were mentioned before. I prefer the west side of Fort Worth~the prices are a little higher but IMO it's worth it. Hope this helps

Im interested to understand the definitions of thugs, hoodlums and rough people out there. I am 6', very short shaved head, wear baggy clothes, drive a big old caprice on big rims, low and tint. People always say I dont smile, although I do when I get to trust people (that L.A. mentality, who can you trust?). But I am very nice. Open doors for everyone, say thank you, would help someone up if they fell and I didnt know them. Im not the nicest person because I am self-centered(and why shouldnt I be?)....but I keep hearing people describing areas that are bad. Is this proven? Or just speculation? Do they just look bad? I will admit, I am probably a rare case where looks arent everything. I just get the impression that since most people here seem to be well into their adulthood, they view all young whippersnappers as troublemakers. Is it 10 bad people for every 100, 250? Im sure like everything else, the ratio has be to better than Los Angeles.
