My family (husband, 8 year old son & myself) will be relocating to Keller in June; I'd previously visited the area in December before accepting the transfer, and will be visiting again in April to look for housing.

We are leaning towards Valley Book Estates (off N. Tarrant, west of 377) with a KB Home.

Any thoughts? Is there anything I should consider both in terms of this new development, and the builder.

I've chosen the subdivision because of its location to my office, which is immediately west of 377, (about 100 yards over the railway line) north of N. Tarrant.

I've read here that if we live west of 377, we can't use the Keller parks? Not sure what that means - are the parks gated?

Thanks for your input.

The area that you are looking into is located in Fort Worth, not Keller. That means that you have to pay more than a Keller resident to use The Keller Pointe, which is our recreation center. You would also need to get a Fort Worth library card. No, the parks aren't gated....I think you misunderstood someone else's post.

There are 3 builders in DFW I advise clients to avoid. KB is pretty much at the top of the list.

Google KB Home problems / complaints and see what comes up.

Choice homes who just went bankrupt & the other is not in Keller.

A good builder is Drees Homes who is building in Chadwick Farms if you can afford them. Get a good experienced buyers agent to give you a hand finding a good home. Buying new constuction has it's pitfalls.

Not a major builder in the area. I have no experience with them good or bad.

Valley Brooke backs up to train tracks, and there is a lot of traffic to get in and out of the community after 2:30

Yes, way too close to the train whistle in my opinion.
