Question Businesses for sale? Where do I find them?

As per my other post, we are thinking of moving to FW (from Australia). I may want to buy a business. Can anyone recommend a business broker or website to use? I am googling but can't find a good site to find listings. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Most of the time they are in the paper in the classified section. Depending on the type of business you want would depend on where they would market it.

What kind of business do you want to be in?

Thanks Ellen. I am thinking cafe/coffee shop/bookstore type place. Or something to do with kids...a small retail shop? Not sure really...just trying to think of ideas. Will check the FW paper online.

I moved here from Austin where I got spoiled. I am use to places to go and have book stores w/healthy sandwiches, snackes, smoothies with comfortable chairs that promote people to stay and visit and network with people, including kids! I was disappointed that here in Arlington there are not any places like that, even though there is a University and a young population.

Just a suggestion for an idea!

Thanks Ellen! That is exactly what I had in mind. Funny that nothing like that is available. Will definitely research that a bit when we come over.

There are 2 types of listings: one where the business only is for sale and one where the real estate (building, inventory, equipment) are included. Most listings will not be in the paper. Commercial real estate is more of a networking business so not everything on the market is advertized.
