I will be in FW starting next week to look at houses, etc. as we may be moving to FW from Australia. I am interested in a Montessori preschool for my toddler. Any recommendations? We would likely live near TCU, but willing to travel to other parts of FW for best school.

Any other private preschool recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Barbara Gordon Montessori in Colleyville has a great reputation. One of only two in Tarrant County that are AMI certified. Clariden in Southlake being the other. (Neither near TCU) Our kids attended there with a child from Australia in fact. It's not cheap, if I remember correctly it was around $500 or $600 per Month. There is a waiting list to get in.

would definitely second the Barbara Gordon...but it is expensive and competitive in that places are limited...there two FW ISD elementary schools that I believe offer Montressori curriculum--Como and Daggett--Daggett might be worth considering...
Daggett Montessori School - Campus Profile (http://schools.fortworthisd.net/education/components/scrapbook/default.php?sectiondetailid=79033 - broken link)

as well as the Alice Carlson Applied Learning elementary which is in the TCU area but is a school of choice and open to students from any location within the FTW ISD based on application and openings...takes place in January for the coming school year--Advanced Academics dept in FTW ISD is in charge of this
the open enrollment is probably one reason why the school is not ranked as Exemplary since it does take students from varied demographic profiles and not just specific residential area which might be more heterogeneous
Alice Carlson Applied Learning Center
Alice Carlson Applied Learning Center
which does not use the Montressori philosophy but might appeal to you due to the real-world connections the education employs and the collaborative problem solving motif. It also follows a slightly different calendar than the FTW ISD in general--which might work for you to have time to travel

whoops--you are looking for pre-school for younger child...
you wil probably be looking at some private/church schools...
there is a Montessori school in Sundance Sq--part of downtown FTW that is franchise of Montessori Educational Systems
and there is Montessori School on Camp Bowie which would be fairly close to TCU area
there is the Center for Creative Living School--not Montessori but interesting from what I saw on web-site
http://www.cfcl.cc/
might be interested in this search site --don't know how schools get listed with it exactly--found it on Dallas thread from couple of years ago and think it has more dallas area private/pre-schools than FTW side...
