Will your child need to use public schools or are you considering private? I'm asking because there are some VERY cute, quaint, older neighborhoods on the west side of Ft. Worth (off of Camp Bowie Blvd.) that are very nice and probably reasonably priced. In your $ range, you may need to do some fixing up but it would be a great deal. I would NOT go up to Park Glen, Watauga, area. The commute would be hell. Traffic is horrible. As far as "granbury rd." area goes -- Hulen Heights subdivision, Summer Creek subdivision are very good. Crowley school district - better than Ft. Worth but still not so great. (That's why I was asking about private school).
Benbrook area - there is "old benbrook" and newer benbrook. Older homes probably need repair and the neighborhood may be going down in value - hence the time on market. For Benbrook schools I would highly recommend looking at the neighborhoods off of F.M. 2871 (near Benbrook Stables which is off of 377.)

Good luck!

Thanks. I'm not considering private school. Otherwise, my price target for house would increase significantly.
