Moving to Fort Worth...Please help!!
Greetings to all,
I have posted here a few times in the past and found this site to be very informative. Our move to the area is getting closer, June 2009, and I am getting more and more anxious. I still have no idea where my 9 yo will attend school and aftercare as well as daycare for my 4yo. I'm pretty sure we will be living in either AMLI on Fossil lake or Retreat at Fossil creek. What school zones are we in? Also, if anyone could recommend good daycares in that area, as well as summer programs that will take both girls. . I have checked out the Texas CPS site for licensed daycares and will be visiting a few next month. Any info would be helpful and also where do we begin to transfer drivers licenses, etc. We are moving from Louisiana and have no family in Fort Worth. I am so overwhelmed. Please Help!!!
Thanks,
Txbound09

apartment complexes right?
Retreat's web site says that it is in Keller ISD.
don't know anything about your other questions...sorry
might run a search here--people were asking about summer camps/programs before--lot of them don't start until 9 am -- not lot of help for working parents.

Here is the link for the drivers licenses......not sure if this is exactly what you need but its a start.
Texas Department of Transportation
Texas Department of Public Safety - Driver License Division
Try contacting the Keller Chamber of Commerce and see if they can recommend some businesses for you. If you move to a different city just do a search on that city's chamber of commerce. Hopefully this can help!

you might check with the school district--some in this area offer day care at the child's school after class is over--sometimes teachers are the ones doing the supervising--cost is fairly reasonable from what I understand...

The before and after school program for the Keller ISD is run by a group called " Clayton Yes". I got this information when I was researching my upcoming move - I called the Keller ISD administrative office; they were pretty helpful. (I'm moving into the Keller ISD in June - I have a son who is about to turn 9 myself).
Good luck with finding day-care - I can't help you there - I just have the school-age child.

expatChicagoan,
What particular schools are you looking into, if you don't mind my asking. I am familiar with the ClaytonYES, but I was hoping to have them in the same place for easy pickup after I get off work.
Thanks to all for responding,

I'm looking at the schools in the Heritage community - it's a bit further north than where you are looking to move.
