The XTO HQ.......

This is my model of the former planned 50 story XTO Tower that was going to replace the Landmark Tower.

Now before you start pointing out the flaws in this building, I want you to know that this is just a SKETCH model. this isn't up to scale and this isn't exactly what I want it to look like, but it is the main idea.

Here's the building...

... looking up at it from street level...

East to west elevation

North to South elevation

And here's a height comparison of the XTO with the curent tallest building in Fort Worth.

And here's my inspiration for this tower, the Bank of America Center in Houston

That looks more like the BellSouth "Batman" Building in Nashville than BOA Houston. Maybe I'm missing the angle but I don't see the connection of your rendering to the BOA image.

The connection between XTO and the BOA Houston is the style.

The two extentions (I don't know if I want them to be tv antennas or spires) just came up in a latter design.

Well, never give up. That design does look cool. Fort Worth needs a 50-story building. You ought to go with the design just like you have in your sketch, JJG. It would be perfect.

I wanted to keep with Fort Worth's tradition of using older styles of arcitecture, and I chose Art Deco for this one.
The BOA was an inspiration as you can see from its shapes.

And if Fort Worth doesn't want it, we can put it in Lubbock.

You can still mix the old with the more modern. What would be really great is to see how that building could light up at night. I'd be interested in seeing that.

Trust me, there are SEVERAL ideas I want to present to city council.

Too much to fill in one evening.....
But like I said, I'm just gettin' started.

And the general design for this building was to mix old with new. With a better rendering, you'd see what I mean.

And the lighting will come a little later.

My first thought when I looked at the first picture was "Sears Tower" in Chicago!

There can be only one!
