I have recently completed my Master's Degree in Sports Management, so I now have a bachelor's degree in Communications-Public Relations and a Master's degree in Sports Management. I've had some experience interning with a Public Relations department and also in the athletic department at the school I completed my Masters. My question is, what kind of jobs can I get with those degrees in the Fort Worth area.

Thanks for the reply.

Looking for any types of jobs related to sports, i.e. jobs in recreation centers, administration jobs like assistant athletic director at the high school or college levels, jobs with semi pro or pro sports teams.

would not qualify for something like asst athletic director at high school--no education degree or experience--all those people come from coaching background--probably same with college to certain extent...
you could try to get intership/sales job with FTW Cats or the hocky team...or out at NASCAR track
try Grand Prairie horse track or any sports group like cycling, bowling congress in Arlington TX, Dallas soccer team--
just because you have a Master's is not going to mean anyting though because you bring no cred to the table--no contacts to help them create sales or exposure...no experience that proves you add value--you are a work in progress and even if you have great potential and enthusiasm...
sounds like you have no work experience to go with either of these two degrees--just went right into the MA program--and your interning in sports management (no offense intended) is really pretty minor since it is for the school that gave you the degree--so that is sort of a tainted referral...

what does your college say about jobs--what recruiters has it gotton on campus--what do your professors say about people they know who might be contact sources

Forgot to mention that I have experience as a coach. I was a scholarship basketball player in college and as a grad student, I was a graduate assistant coach for a Division 1 men's basketball team, while also interning in the ticket office. I have also coached AAU/Club basketball for 5 years as a head coach and assistant coach.

job with YMCA
with city's recreation dept/marketing--some of them are pretty busy--
try the Mavs but think that is pretty much lost cause unless you know someone...

you are going to have to start small and work up the food chain--
who do you know/keep in contact with from the Division I team that is still active in sports
who do you know within AAu organization who is permanent hire

look around you--Byron Nelson is going on right now--there are plenty of people involved in marketing and serving the needs of the tournament
Colonial is next week--that is hugh task to get ready for each year--most people are volunteers but it is a way to meet/greet and make contacts...

I agree with loves2read. Networking is the way to go. Get into a volunteer program and you will meet the people that you need to further your career. Good luck.
