How close are you wanting to be? Decatur would be another option that hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet. It's about 35 minutes from the base(I know this because we use to live there before we moved to Frisco and there were several people in our neighborhood who commuted there daily) and real close to shopping and restaurants that aren't already in Decatur. They already have stuff like Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Chili's, etc and there is more on the way. The schools are very good and it is a good, family-oriented, safe area. There are many homes in your price range in nice neighborhoods.
