I bet once I get out there, it will take me a while to get used to the thunder again. I've been away from it for over 10 yrs. Can't wait to get back.

The temps may not be high her in the DFW area, but BOY IS IT HUMID! It's 85 degrees at 1:30. I mowed my lawn at noon and was literally covered in sweat from head to toe - worse than I have ever been. The misery index is high with all of this humidity (70%). I think I prefer the hot, dry summers opposed to all of this humidy; it's like living in Houston. Not that I have anything against Houston, other than it's usually much more humid there.

Yeah, it is pretty humid out there. Noon is probably the worse time to mow your lawn. We should finally break 100 deg. for the 1st time this year next week.

Maybe it will be better if it will stop raining for a little bit and suck some of this moisture away. I swear, I have never felt so drained after simply mowing the lawn. It was if there was a blanket of humidity over everything.

Today appears to be a little better: At 1:55 p.m. it's 91 degrees and 46% humidity here. Not to bad for a Texas afternoon in August, huh.
Of course, I am originally from Florida where August is always in the 90's and humdity is too. Floridians would LOVE to have 46% humidity in the middle of an August afternoon!

You're right, it is better today even though it's hotter. The humidity is much lower. I guess I could handle 110 degree heat in Phoenix much better than I could handle the gulf coast humidity. Man, yesterday absolutely sucked!

We welcome you back! I'm from Oklahoma as well - I've lived here in the FW area for the last 17 years though. I like it here; FW is a GREAT place.

Thanks!! We're thinking about North Richland Hills or Keller area.
To keep it on topic, it would be cool if anyone happens to have any pics of the lightning or rain or storm clouds to post.
That would be cool to see.

It looks like we won't have anymore severe weather for a while. The heat will be back on after a 1-year absence.
'sweetie, the local news station Web sites had cool pics of funnel clouds, lightning, video of heavy rain, etc. The earlier pages in this thread might still have active links.
