That is true. It's very hit-or-miss here in TX. Not so much the case where I'm originally from (NJ).

There are a lot of severe weather warning in Tarrant, Dallas, and surrounding counties. Carrollton got hail. I hear thunder in my area. No tornadoes are expected.

The sky opened up pretty good about half an hour ago. I heard hail for the second time ever (in my life). The lightning was bright and the thunder shook my chair. The power blipped, but my UPS kept my computer humming along. It's all quiet now in NW FW.

We got all sorts of rain during the night and early on I'm pretty sure I heard some small hail as well, though I didn't go out to check for sure. haha
This morning the air has a definite nip to it!

^ I am enjoying the cool weather!
About 1/2 hr. after my previous post, I was getting ready for bed and the lightning, thunder, and rain show restarted. Luckily, no hail the 2nd time around.

We live in Keller and the thunder and lightning was pretty cool. The hail not so much, it kept us up all night. I might be weird but we enjoy the weather so far because it is, well, weather. We did not experience much of that in CA.

I know one of these days I will be caught in hail. I wouldn't be so worried about chunks of ice falling on my noggin as much as I would about my car having to suffer through it.
