This is why in the springtime I pay attention to the weather, watching the morning and evening news, at least to see what the sky is doing. We can get this bad weather in the summer and sometimes fall, too, but it occurs most often in the spring. I told my daughter to do the same thing. Half the time she is surprised when I tell her what's going on with the weather. I don't want to be caught out in it and I don't want her and my grandson to be, either. I know there are times when it can't be helped. Back in the 80's I was driving to work in Hurst at the time and was travelling on 183. The rain became torrential (a gully washer as we say in Texas!) and the hail was pounding and all the cars on the highway were going slower and slower until we stopped dead in our tracks. We couldn't even see to pull over onto the shoulder. It was very scary.

A few years ago some large hailstones crashed through my bedroom window in the middle of the night sending glass and hail to the far wall of my bedroom. Luckily, my bed wasn't in the path!

My friend said they're still paying his wife's car off (loan). The car still drives just fine, but he said it looks like someone climbed on the car and went to town with a hammer. He was bummed out and is kicking himself for not paying attention to the weather and putting her car in the garage.

On the west side of FW, all except 1 traffic light were functioning properly.
Tell him that if the metal isn't actually folded in at any point, that it's not hopeless. Many of the indentations can be pulled back out with this neat little suction device and the smaller shallower ones can pop back out on their own in the severe heat of summer we tend to have. It might be worth while to wait a bit to see about repairing them....maybe.

R.B. is on a distinguished road
It was our first Spring Storm in TX.... We couldn't believe how bad it was!! This is a brand new house near by I-35N and I-820. Fortunately, no one lived in this house. There was another house under constuction that was totally destroyed.

The truth spoken, and I totally agree with you. I hate it.

Wow! Good thing the builder has insurance, but it sucks for the person who was going to buy it (assuming it was under contract).

This looks like some pretty serious weather moving this way. There is a tornado WARNING for Parker County and it looks as if the storm is headed right for the middle of FW. I hope we don't have another incident (or worse) than last week.

Stay safe everyone.

Tornado spotted 7 miles west of Weatherford and rain wrapped. Keep the tv, radio or laptop tuned to tv stations.
