It's A-Comin'
Get ready, gang. It's going to be interesting this evening. Huge cells west of Fort Worth. I'm ready here in Lewisville.

They just announced on our Abilene station that hail as large as grapefruit has fallen in the MIneral Wells area and the storm is heading straight down Interstate 30 to Weatherford and downtown Ft. Worth. We'll be thinking about you all! Hope you make it through the night okay.

Dangerous Storm
The cells over Weatherford are moving into Ft. Worth but are not as impressive as they were, but they will still be powerful. I'm watching this very carefully. What will probably come through my area will not be the Weatherford cell, but the strong storms in Boyd and heading eastward between Denton and Ft. Worth in the next hour.
Regarding the grapefruit-sized hail in Mineral Wells, the Dairy Queen had broken windows and dents in their roof. Quite an impressive storm.

I am sure he is fine. I am in North Fort Worth we got hail, rain and some flooding. If he was like us when we first got here from Northern California, he probably thought it was very cool . BTW, it passed about an hour ago, so I am sure he is doing just fine.

Here's my story. I was at the gym this evening and had no idea about the storms. I left work and it was just cloudy and windy ... like it was this morning. At around 8 p.m., my gym's roof sounded like a tin can being beaten by drumsticks. I quickly realized it was hailing. Everyone in the gym dropped what they were doing and ran to the main entrance to see the hail. A couple people were recording it w/ their cell phones.
I was thinking of my poor car, that was out in the parking lot. I had just washed and waxed my baby on Sun. The hail looked to be about dime size. It fell pretty hard for about 2 min. People who were in the parking lot ran to the gym. Then, it just turned to hard rain.
I finished my workout and then ventured out to survey the damage. Luckily, my car did not look beaten up in the brief look-over I got it. I'll do a closer inspection tomorrow during the day. This is my 3rd hail exp. in my life (all within the last 2 years since I moved to TX) and the first time my car wasn't protected in my garage.
I'm just thankful it was relatively small hail and not softball size hail that some of you mentioned a few posts up. I hope everyone else made out OK. Severe weather sux here in TX!
I wonder how downtown FW turned out given that the Main St. Arts Fest just started today.

Hey y'all, I'm a reg down in the San Antonio forum...
I heard about you're storms today and the images were shocking to say the least! I'm glad that each and every one of you were able to make it through unharmed.

Well we had a real fun night. We don't know how the weather in Keller was because we were in Fort Worth sitting in the hallway of Harris Methodist Hospital watching our daughter go through labor in a wheelchair. Them darn tornadoes.
Everything turned out alright and daughter and granddaughter are doing wonderful. Son-in-law is in 7th heaven, on cloud nine, but tired, Grandparents are not so well, we don't so well on little sleep anymore.
