If I were yall I'd rent for a few years in a reputable school district (if your kids are in school that is). After that you'll have a good feel for the area and have had an opportunity to explore before you make a decision on where to buy a home. This is something that I wish to god I would have done. I moved here and was in an apartment for only 5-6 months before I picked a place to live. We had heard wonderful things about the area that we moved and the school system and this and that but now we're miserable and wish we lived somewhere else.

One area of DFW may not suit everyone.
