We bought a house in Aledo. Actually we're in Annetta south. It's a nice small community half way between Weatherford and Fort Worth. It takes around 30-40 minutes to get to downtown Fort Worth.

would not want to live up by Alliance airport and the speedway just north (I think) of Fort Worth. I hear the traffic is horrible since they built the speedway
We live in Trophy Club, 5 miles from the Speedway. Yes, traffic is bad on race weekends. (maybe 6 weekends a year). We love it here. It is safe. Close to everything.

I have a friend that lives in Paradise (love that name). She loves it but it seems very rural, she has a lot of land though.

Try Decatur. It's only 25 minutes from Fort Worth.

I'm looking in the area of Springtown/Weatherford/Aledo. But Aledo prices seem to be on the rise.

Weatherford has elements of lovely, and the countryside is pretty spectacular. But the traffic is a nightmare, and for me, negates any semblance of "small town."

Weatherford is a nice town, but if you're looking for "country", you'll have to go farther away from the DFW Metroplex. It's too close and growing too fast.
