Small towns near fort worth
I'm looking for a small town not too far from Fort Worth. Any suggestions?

Granbury. It has a lake and a historical square and land if you want horses.

Boy there are little towns everywhere all have a good feel. I hear that Granbury is just beautiful. We are in Saginaw which has a small town feel, but more blue collar, very friendly people, very relaxed feeling, does have a big railroad presense.

Weatherford...
I would not want to live up by Alliance airport and the speedway just north (I think) of Fort Worth. I hear the traffic is horrible since they built the speedway...
I like Weatherford though, accessible to Fort Worth but far enough out that you feel like your in the country...I like to see cows as I drive home not concrete.

we are building in a ranch style development (or hoping to) that has wonderful vistas and is bordered by a rancher that has cows. So...we will be hearing moooooing There is still quite a lot of very nice land out north in Haslet.

The best choice for me would be Granbury. A lot of Texs history and friendly people. Good place to live.

there were a million stories when they made the Streets of San Francisco--and if you look at the map there are plenty of towns in N Texas...I just think some people come here and expect people to read their minds---can't do that...can only tell you what is on mine---
Why does that person WANT to be in a town in North TX?
What does s/he expect from that environment?
What are the make/break factors in moving?
What works for one person does not necessarily work for another---as any review of what is posted here -- or in that of any state's forum--- would show a reader...
OP's query reminds me of students in my class who only wanted the answers to questions I gave so they had to do no original investment of cognitive ability or time...
just don't think that is productive decision making in the long run...
so I did not make my response just to criticize but to get the poster involved in this process, at least as much as the people who will take the time to read and post a response...
I think someone who has not done any time-on-task really does not deserve much of a response....sorry if that is too critical...

I have found that I ALWAYS have an opinion. The difficult part is knowing when, how, and if I should share it.
