Default Free Weekday Street Parking in Downtown?

Hi Everyone!

I am writing to inquire about free weekday parking in Downtown Fort Worth. I will be starting a new job Downtown in a couple of weeks and was told to call someone to be placed on a waiting list for cheap garage parking ... but that list is 300+ people long.

I was then told that "free street parking DOES exist, you just have to find it." Since I am 4 months new to the Fort Worth area, can anyone suggest where I might find this free weekday parking? What streets in Downtown is that allowed?

Thanks so much!
grlpisces

don't know of any right off hand--there is free parking after 6 and on weekends on street for people who come down to Sundance SQ to eat or go clubbing or movies...think any spot would be really outside the downtown area...most city streets have meters and most lots pay lots...
my husband works downtown and his co buys parking for him

I have never seen free parking downtown except for in the evenings and on weekends, as well as validated parking at Sundance Square when you shop. Even now when you have jury duty you have to park in a lot at LaGrave Field. What area are you coming from? Is there a way you can take the TRE (Trinity Railway Express) and then walk to your office downtown? This way you would have free parking at the train station, and then not have to pay the higher prices for parking (or the higher price of gas).

No, there isn't free parking on the street on weekdays. There are 10-hour parking meters in some locations, but they're likely several blocks from where you need to go.

Default did you ever find free parking?

I just moved to TX last week and am working in Fort Worth also. I'd sure like to find some free parking. Did you find any?

there is none--at least none in areas that are in the true part of downtown...

I used to work in downtown Ft Worth many yrs ago and I did park free. I worked at a printing company on 4th and Main St and as I remember (not sure) I walked North up main street (runs North and south if I remember right) from there, either a block or two maybe three, then went east for some not remembered number of blocks to where I had parked my car for free on the side of street at the curb. I do not remember how far it was but I did get quite fit and very skinny during that four or so years I worked there. Guess it has changed a lot. Now live in Florida.

Default how about paid parking 24/7

Anyone know where I can find a parking space 24/7 within a couple of blocks of the TRE station downtown Ft. Worth. Willing to pay for it.

Default free parking

There are a lot of places on the streets that the meters have been taken out... I drove around on a Sunday one weekend and found plenty of options...
Also if you get here early enough (and dependent on what side of downtown you work on)you can park on Lancaster.
