I am considering renting a house in Euless, and I've heard mixed reviews. I was hoping that someone who knows the area could give me their opinions.

The house is north of 183, right off of Main and Denton Drive. It seems that most of the houses are duplexes in this neighborhood. Is anyone familiar with this area? I want to know if it is safe, quiet, and if the people are generally friendly...and also any other information you feel is important about the neighborhood.

My son will start kindergarten this year, so I would also like opinions about North Euless Elementary, as well as the HEB school district overall.

Thank you in advance for your advice!

It's a safe place.

Is it the best place in Euless? No. It might be considered the "lower income" side of Euless but every city including Southlake has a "lower income" part.

Compared to the lower income parts of Arlington or Irving any part of Euless is an upgrade.

HEB schools do a good job.

HEB schools do do a good job
check out the school's TAKS ratings---EXEMPLARY--#1 and it has what most people would consider mainly lower socio-economic, ethnic student body--not usually the one thought to produce that result...
call the Euless police and ask about crime in the area--go to the school--and tell them you are considering moving into their catchment zone

Thank you for the responses. I've already researched the crime and schools to the extent I can, so I just wanted to hear from some residents or others who are familiar with this specific area. I'm glad to hear that this seems to be a pretty good area!

It's a good area and the elementary school is sought after! I am familiar with the location ... it is ideal due to close proximity to highway access, DFW, banking, restaurants, schools and parks/recreation.

My family lived in the West Dale Hills apts for 3 years and the elemnt school and jr high were good schools...however the police department left much to be desired. My sons went to check the mail one afternoon, and on their way back were approached by a guy holding a shopping bag. He asked the boys if they wanted to help him give out candy to the residents. They said no and quickly came home. The responding officer said that the guy was probably a Mormon, and meant no harm, so not to worry about it.
My husand found a bag of mary jane one morning and the cop just took it from him and left, no questions no looking around, nothing.
Was just not impressed.

Hi rdae,

Sorry for the delayed response...I didn't see your post! So far, we really love it! I'm really anxious to see how the school system functions. If it's as good as people say it is, then I'll feel really good about the move.

What did you decide to do, if I may ask?
