Hi smalltownmama,

I have lived in Burleson for 20 years. It's a small-ish town (population currently around 30,000)that's rapidly growing into a suburb of Fort Worth. While it's only 20-25 minutes from downtown Fort Worth, it manages to feel like "a suburb in the country".

Residents are very friendly. You run into people you know pretty much everywhere in town, yet there are still plenty of new people to meet. There are many churches and community-oriented organizations to get involved with.

Burleson ISD consists of nine elementary schools, two middle schools, an alternative learning center, and almost two high schools. The new second high school, Burleson Centennial, will open this fall.

While there are a good number of retail and restaurant options, there is not much year-round entertainment except for two movie theatres and a mini-golf arcade. However, in the summer months free concerts are held in Old Town Burleson.

I only have two complaints:
1) Road construction from such rapid growth
and
2) A few Barnett-Shale gas drills with surrounding sound-proof walls (which are a bit of an eyesore, but not noisy unless you live within 1/2 mile of one).

Give us a visit!
