Can ANYONE help me? I know I won't find pizza like what I have known for the past 36 years living in NJ with all the real Italian Mom and Pop pizza places, but I NEED to find something.

I went to NYC a couple of years ago and had Ray's or Original Ray's, which ever one is the real good one, and the closest I have had to that is, honestly, Mama's Pizza, which has several area locations, including Fort Worth. For a more traditional NY pizza, I live in south Arlington and a great new place just opened at the northwest corner of Green Oaks and Cooper. Nothing will probably beat anything you grew up with, but I hope this helps.

Have you been to Mellow Mushroom in Bluebonnet Circle by TCU campus? I know it won't be what you are looking for since it is not your typical NY/NJ style pizza. Mama's pizza is good too. If you ever go to Dallas, check out Louie's. It is my favorite. It is definitely a dive place, cozy and has a great bar selection. ANother one is Campisi's but they are also in Dallas. Where I live Palio's is popular, they have 3 in the DFW area that I know of.

Yes, out of all the places I mentioned, Palio's is my least favorite. I think the whole BYOB is what makes it popular. The one on 26/NW Hwy in Grapevine is just about to open up.

I'm partial to Rocco's on Camp Bowie. And of all things, I ate a really good cheese and pepperoni from Sam's Club! Also, Taverna in downtown Fort Worth has great pizza and great food overall. One of my favorite spots!

txtoal- Thank you so much for mentioning Mellow Mushroom!! I had no idea they were here. I thought they were just in the southeast part of the country. I usually eat it when I am traveling to that part of the country for work. I will definitely have to check it out.
