Hi, I'm considering relocating from the Houston area to the H-E-B area (or at least somewhere in North TX in the DFW region.) I have a job interview in Hurst. I work in the healthcare field. Just wondering what feedback I may get on what it's like to live & work in Hurst. I'm not concerned about schools, as I'm single w/no kids. I'm a middle-aged, single-again female wanting to make a change. Any help ya'll could provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I live in Hurst now and have lived in immediate area for more than 20 yrs

for the most part Hurst is a suburban area with mix of homes/apts/retail and commercial--
there are apts but not as new/upscale as in other areas--
it is what I would consider safe certainly in area north of the 183 freeway--
you can check crime maps for more specific info

you don't mention a price point--most apts in Hurst are older--and I would recommend you check out other areas close by like Bedford/NRichland Hills/North Euless-Grapevine area

there are good restaurants, shopping, medical providers, churches in plenty
there are some neighborhood sports- bar types--if not in Hurst--then in other close areas--
but frankly I don't know about meeting other singles--since I am not in that demographic

Hurst is located geographically so that it is easy to get into downtown FTW or Dallas, Southlake or Arlington, Galleria area using freeways and surface roads...
but the only public transport is the TRE which does not really pass through the heart of Hurst

It's generally a quiet community; no excitement or drama. Well located for Dallas & Fort Worth. If you want a little more glitz, you can look at the shiny new apartments in Las Colinas; its short drive opposite rush hour traffic flow. But nothing at all wrong with Hurst. Do recommend that if you want to look other places that are not east of Hurst, you should try the commute before you commit to lease. Rush hour traffic is a nightmare in the Hurst area heading in (morning) and out (night) of Dallas.
