According, to the Fort Worth Business Press the community of Near Southside has had a 117% in restaurant business in 2009. At the moment there are over 40 projects still in the works. I think this great news for Near Southside and Fort Worth residents.

Restaurants in the works include:
Cat City Grill, Liliís Bistro, Cat City Grill, Zio Carlo Italian Restaurant, Gunnís Cleanerís building, Flying Carpet Cafť, Scampiís restaurant.

Other projects:

Hasn't any parts of Texas been affected by the recession? I can't believe all the growth I keep reading about. What's your secret down there? We're still reeling from it here in California, with no end in sight.

We havn't been hit as hard as the rest of the country cause we never had those crazy 20-30% values increases every year in early 2000 like everyone else did. Since we never had our prices grossly over infalted we didn't have really anywere to go down from when the recession hit.
