Qhoss, the above posts are good advice from what I know. Compared to MS, I am sure you might find our real estate around Ft. Worth more expensive. Remember, the reason is because there are JOBS and good ones in the DFW area. Also, the real estate hasn't taken much of a hit (uh, yet) like the rest of the nation during the recession. Go to those websites, do your homework. Keep the faith.

Granbury is a really pretty area. Also, I am a fan of Weatherford because of the cutting horses! Would love to get into cutting.

I did find several houses where the tax wasn't too bad--maybe the homestead exemption deal would help---
Actually, I wouldn't necessarily mind having a broodmare, but the horse market isn't great right now. Might be better there, though. Here in MS people are turning horses loose in the woods or giving them away mostly.

I don't have any kids, so the schools don't make a difference one way or the other to me.
