Thank you so much!!!
The only one of those 3 that I know people in is Lewisville and a couple of the kids are special needs - dyslexia mostly, not autistic spectrum - and they seem to be okay with it.

My dyslexic son is in a private LD school. I couldn't get diddly out of Richardson ISD.

Loves2, thanks for your perspective and helpful suggestions! Private schools aren't always superior to public schools either I've found. Many of us parents probably have expectations that are not realistic, looking for the "perfect" school. I'm looking for schools that focus on AP, GT or IB with serious visual arts courses available, but necessarily prize winning, although that would awesome! Having quality sports programs would be a bonus, but not our first priority. There a few pricey private schools I'd love my child to attend, but I know many people who attended public schools and college and are highly sucessful adults. So for now, I want to find the best possible public school that meets my child's particular needs as he goes into middle and high school.

Sky well put, thank you L2R.
I have taught both private and public and had my son in both as well. It just depends, sometimes the public schools are better resource-wise, here in CA neither were an option...hence I have been home schooling.
I guess once I get there I will figure more of this out.

I was juts wondering what anyone might know about The Westlake Academy charter school.
Is it open to residents of Westlake only?
Is it a good school, does it have special education programs? I could not find what I needed on their website, or GreatSchools.net
Thank you, MBG

I have a student at the westlake academy...what would you like to know?
