What is in Myersville? Grocery stores? Businesses? Library? Anyone live there and have some info to share. Thanks in advance!

Myersville is pretty small and mostly residential/farmland. There is an Exxon, a couple fast food places (I think Burger King and McDonald's - maybe a Subway?), a diner, a bank, a church or two, and I believe a small market/grocery store. I'm sure there are a few essentials I'm missing, like doctor's offices, but that's all I can recall from the main drag through town. It's quiet and peaceful and would be a good place to raise a family if you like a rural, small-town feel with some new subdivisions. It's about halfway between Frederick and Hagerstown for more dining, shopping, doctors and other businesses. Traffic on 70 at rush hour can get pretty gnarly, though, which is something I'd keep in mind, depending on your commute.

I'm sure someone who lives in Myersville can weigh in further. Good luck!

Steven P pretty well hit it. For things like a real Grocery store you drive to Frederick (down I-70) or Middletown (down MD-17). The only reason BK, McD, and the gas stations are there is because of the exit to I-70. Near Myersville is South Mountain Dairy which has some of the best Ice Cream around as well as local farm fresh milk and eggs.

I always liked Myersville. You can live there and have easy access to the amenities and jobs of Frederick and points east, but are still in a largely rural area. Head north and you are in the bulk of the Catoctin Mountains, a very beautiful place. Harmony Rd. was among my favorite Frederick County country roads.

I grew up in Myersville and my parents still live there. The other posters are very accurate. Great place and probably the best schools in the county.
