Currently I am living Harford County and I am looking for single house(buy) around Frederick.

So far,Ballenger Creek seems nice community and I saw Frederick site on Facebook Page and some people said "Ballenger Creek is great for family just Avoid Route40 area "

But When I searched on Local crime map, I see a lots of crime around Ballenger Creek its actually more than route40.

Idk because of big community so just more crime at there. I'm wondering is anyone living at there or local people who knows about Crime/School of Ballenger Creek.

Also,I want to know If there is another good area you know.(I am interested in around New market, Lake Linganore, Mt Pleasant,Walkersville)
As long as about 20min away from Frederick I'm fine even rural area.just worried about drug..bad teens like gang.. stuff like that.

Petty crime exists everywhere (to varying extents), and Ballenger Creek is no exception. As with other areas, I would guess that the older, more modest developments in BC have higher crime rates due to lower incomes and home values. However, it doesn't strike me as a particularly dangerous area compared to other parts of Frederick - certainly not as bad as the Rt. 40/Golden Mile area. Exhibit basic street smarts and you'll be absolutely fine. In terms of test scores, Ballenger Creek elementary and middle are decent, but not excellent. The other areas you mentioned have a more exurban feel, i.e. the population and homes are less densely concentrated, but they're within 20 minutes of Frederick.
