i waited for a deal and signed up for the sunday paper for about $1 per week. so it works out in my favor. there was one week with no coupons and i wasnt happy about that but overall it easily pays for itself.
Considering that most Sunday papers cost anywhere from $3-5, I wouldn't consider it a very frugal investment. Unless, week in and week out, you routinely save well over $5 a week by using coupons found in the newspaper.
Where does a newspaper cost that much? Around here, the newspapers are $1.50-$2.
Edited to say - and I've bought newspapers in other states when I have visited, and I have never seen a newspaper that costs $3 or $5.

Another question.....do you have a hard time with the stores accepting internet coupons?
not by me. i had one cashier grumble a little bit but i can handle that. i used my mom's older printer once and the cashier had to scan it a bunch of times and wasnt thrilled, but ulimately i saved a buck each coupon so i was very happy!

Hmmm....
mine are $1.00 and $1.25 at the newsstand... cheaper if you get home delivery!

I'm cancelling my paper because they are charging MORE for home delivery. I pay a premium for the SF Chronicle.... and the paper is getting worse by the day.

It's very easy to save well over $5 a week using coupons in the newspapers without even trying very hard.
