recycle as in aluminum cans for cash!
recycle as in demin for house insulation or recycling into tote bags for groceries...
in the old days women would recycle flour sacks into clothes for the girls
or the good parts of worn-out clothing into quilts
recycling kitchen waste into homemade compost
or supplement feed for chickens, rabbits etc.
those are some ideas how one can recycle and save money...
recycling 5 gallon pickle or paint buckets into garden planters
people at one time or another were recycling rubber tires into playground
equipment and yard swings, there are plans available to recycle tires
into door mats

Those are just a quick list. There's so many options. Everyone has different ways of handling things. Your motto keeps all the options open. That's what's so great about it.

Thanks for the checklist..
All of these are plausible, although you won't see results as immediately as saving more money.
Tried 1) and failed.. at least I wasn't laid off unlike some of my coworkers since the company isn't in the best shape.
4 and 5 are high on my list at the moment. I'm also working on increasing my investment income by saving as much money as possible and using it to buy stocks, gold and bonds. I'd probably emphasize on having at least 1 income stream that is passive income.. at least you don't need to spend much time to maintain that stream which frees your time to work or pursue other money making opportunities.

Life is good as a "bottom feeder" shopping in the used, refurbished and seconds markets whenever possible rather than new.

My motto: If it's too tight and you can't wear it anymore, donate it or give it away to your neighbor.. .
The "other" choice might be to lose weight so it "does" fit again....
