Laundry detergent is an area where I'm not frugal. In fact, I'm darn right extravagant. The only one I'll use is Seventh Generation Free & Clear. Dyes, perfumes and detergents make both of us sneezy and rashy. I do also keep a small bottle of a cheap store brand detergent to wash the cleaning rags.

I cut up facial make-up remover wipes from Costco into quarters. You do NOT need an entire sheet to wipe off reside after bathing or washing your face. There is always that little bit that won't come off with soap and water.

It isn't so much me, but my step mom: when my dad passed away she had me take her to the thrift shop to buy a black skirt to wear to his funeral.

Smart women. You'd probably never want to wear that skirt again anyway.

I won't throw out leftover giftwrap if there is enough to wrap a CD, and I will re-use gift bows if they are in good condition.

I save gift wrap, bags, bows and have a slew of them. However, when I'm out buying a gift, I forget what I have and worry that what I do have may be rumpled and "old" looking so I usually break down and buy something brand new.

Buy all purpose cleaner for $1 a bottle and mix it half and half with the name brand one that I like. If I know I'm going to go have a hamburger I slip a slice of cheese(wrapped of course in my purse so I don't have to pay .50c for a slice! I also
cut facial cleanser wipes in 1/2 as I don't need a whole one to do the job. I look thru the trash (top part anyway) in our mailroom for coupon mailings other folks didn't want! There are more but these are just some of my ridiculous ways
to practice frugality!

I bought a few bags of cotton balls recently, but they are HUGE. I just use one cotton ball in the morning and one at night with my face stuff. I've decided to rip each cotton ball in half and use half in the AM and half in the PM, because it annoyed me to waste that much cotton.

I'm sure if anyone saw me doing this they'd think I was being overly cheap, but I just hate wasting my money (and all that cotton). If I just used one of these giant cotton balls each time, I'd be wasting half the bag.

Really, why would they make the damned cotton balls so big in the first place. I can't think of any reason I would need a cotton ball that huge!
Good idea. And I use the cotton that is in the top of some pill bottles for removing nail polish etc.
