Everything in moderation and a good amount of exercise, you don't have those problems. The notion that eating a Twinkie once in a while would be fatal is rather silly.
It is like the foodies who attack fast food as empty calories and then devour a pound and a half of BBQ at their favorite rib joint.
Your comment is funny but so very true. My mom has a friend who has always been Obese. A very heavy woman in Mississippi. She probably weighed around 450 lbs. She could barely walk and she was a fairly younger lady. However, she was always going on diets and my sister once remarked after living with her a week that she would buy diet soda and down it with half a cow the woman ate so much. So we would always note her hypocrisy.
My brother is going through withdrawal. He loves Hostess Sno-Balls. While I always thought they were nasty, our dad also loved them, and we got them all the time in sack lunches because mom loved to please dad.
I liked a cupcake once in a while, but I never indulged very much.
I don't consume Hostess often and did not consider the Little Debbie/Hostess brands for the longest time. And (stupidly) back in September, I chose to try Cloud Cakes over Twinkies, so that is one indulgence I will never get back! Regrets, I've had a few...
I tried a Twinkie once and didn't like it... I've never tried any of Hostess's other products to my knowledge. I have never been a fan of prepackaged cakes/treats or white bread.
They were definitely never a regular diet but every couple of months or so I would buy either the Hostess cupcakes or the snowball. Sometimes I'd pick up those boxes at Target.
Also liked the powder donuts though I had't eaten one in a long time.
