I have 3 cats, and feed them Blue Buffalo, which is, IMO, the best for them. However, it is one of the most expensive!
I feed them the wet (canned) food 2x day, and keep a feeder "silo" filled with the dry version available all the time. I find it frustrating when they don't eat all the wet food, and it just dries out sitting there. So, I've taken to scraping off the leftover "wet" food into a dish with a snap-on cover for later. I keep it in the fridge, but just leave it sit out for awhile and they enjoy it just as well as a fresh can. I've found I typically save at least one can's worth every 2-3 days. I also started ordering the food from Amazon Prime, much cheaper.
However, we can't always measure frugality in dollars saved. Since going to the more expensive, higher quality cat food, my cats are healthier, they don't shed so much, don't upchuck hairballs, and probably feel better, too
Bf and I went and had his haircut, lunch with drinks, 2 Pandora charms for me, more drinks and food and a trip to the liquor store to stock up. All of it was free due to his GC from work!!

I don't know what that is either but I want one too.
Thanks for the pickle tips, Nonchalance. I was convinced that the canning process was making them soft.
Marylee, I stepped up the quality of food for our six guys. What you spend in quality food you save on vet bills IMO.
WOW propane is WAAAY down this year, I got my forty pound cylinder filled yesterday, last year it cost about 44 dollars, this time 17 and change. Holy Cow
I am tired of throwing away stale muffins. I am going back to making from scratch. Besides, I can't buy sugar free, but I can make them. It's about time I started using that nice stand mixer.
DH had some old flannel shirts he had worn out. They were not even ggood enough to give to good will and he was getting ready to throw them away.
HALT! We need more soft things for the dog beds. I took the buttons off and arranged them in Toby's kennel and now he is much more comfortable and we don't have to use our swimming pool towels like we had been using..
Visited my crone yesterday and she loaded me up with boxes and packing materials. Perfect timing, we sold a few things on ebay last night and I can really use it.
Today we pickup the church thrift store cast offs. Things I don't want will get boxed for Salvation Army. I have some clothing and shoes to give them for the store. Win - win.
