This time of year I can go hog wild at garden centers. I have huge containers to fill on my front porch as well as many planters on the back deck. But we are building a new house and I have to be very conservative and still have a nice show.
I bought about $45 worth of annuals which I will split among my many containers. I am growing some annuals from seed too and when they are ready it will be a nice show.
I was very careful to avoid the perennial section. I definitely will be digging up many many plants from my garden to move with me and the last thing I need is more perennials.

I bought ingredients to make my own laundry detergent, fabric softener, and deodorant.
I also got rid of cable TV.

I ate at home, exercised by walking the dogs,, got a 4.99 rotisserie chicken at giant, did my aldis run for eggs, veg,oj, milk and grouped my shopping to save gas.
Am trying to be consistent with my electric use. That means fans off when not in room, lights on in only the room I am in. No AC in our old farmhouse so fans and cool interiors will begin soon. So much pollen this year!

Rode public transit instead of driving and packed my lunch using bread from a loaf I baked yesterday. I usually drive when I need to go downtown, but the parking fees are completely ridiculous, so I decided to learn how to navigate our regional transit system. Interesting cross section of people but overall a pleasant day, and I definitely did not miss the rush hour traffic on I-25.

Check out Ebates.com

If you buy stuff online, you can get cash back for your purchases. Its a percentage of the purchase price, ranges from .01%--12%. Oftentimes they have codes for things like free shipping, etc, as well.

There's no fee to join, and you get a rebate check 4x/year. Its not "funny money" like reward points, etc, just cash. So far this year I've made ~$40! Some extra spending money, although I usually stash it in the emergency account.

I pledged to support $40 a month for a Christian radio station (K-LOVE) I listened to everyday.

They support the "Feed My Hungry Children" non-profit organization and I love this ministry. It feel so good to help others.

K-LOVE Contemporary Christian Music - K-LOVE

I hope you do too.

Got brown eggs 'on sale' at local market for 50 cents a dozen! Couldn't pass that up, so purchased 3 dozen. Will be making some egg salad today, as my neighbor had recently given me 3 dozen eggs (half chicken half duck). Feeling 'egg-cellent'~!!

-I live in a cheap apartment where my rent is roughly 1/8th of my total monthly income
-The car I drive gets almost 40mpg
-I gave up a sport that costs about $800/month and traded it for one that costs about $20/month
-Instead of going to an expensive gym I bought a pull up bar. I combine my pullups with other exercises that can be done at home
-No cable, only Netflix at roughly 1/3rd the cost

Instead of going out to lunch with the rest of the tennis team, I went home and ate my leftovers that I cooked last week.
