The main reason I have a land line is that internet + landline = same price as internet alone.

Emergencies. Your cell phone service could be interrupted, or your cell phone battery could be discharged. I want to be able to call 911 24/7/365.

Of course your land line service could also be interrupted, and in that case the cell phone is a back-up for the land line phone.

To the OP: Why are you asking your question in that manner rather than reverse it? i.e., "What is the reason you got rid of your land line phone?" Of course I know a lot of the reasons, the primary one being probably to save money since it's possible to get by pretty well with a cell phone only. Sure, if given a choice of only ONE type of phone, most people would choose a cell phone. But the phrasing of your questions makes it sound like there is something odd or wrong with having a land line phone. Not so.

I still have it and people think it's odd so I wanted to see if anyone else had a landline

I still have a landline.....and I don't have cell phone.

My landline is part of a three way bundle.....satellite, computer, landline.

I like the quality of a landline. Far too often, when I am speaking with someone who is on a cell phone, the call breaks up/can't hear the caller well/gets disconnected.....very annoying.

Lately, I have been thinking about getting a cell phone, just in case my car breaks down, but I keep putting if off because of the added hassle of another bill to pay and having to fool with keeping it charged.

Gotya - understood. Lots of us still have one. I think the reaction you're getting is part of the normal human tendency to want to be part of the latest trendiness, and to look down on people who are not part of it as a way of making oneself feel superior. Among the people I know it seems to be about 60/40 (with the majority still having a land line). But that will certainly vary with age groups, socio-economic groups, and so on. And I suppose as time goes by there will be fewer and fewer of us, which will still not bother me a bit.

I been experiencing that a lot since I upgraded to a Samsung Touch Screen Phone. When I had a blackberry I never had that problem.

We still have our landline because I want to have the line available for emergencies, especially medical emergencies, as several in our household have medical problems. I have had issues with cell phones going out and I prefer to keep the landline.

2 years ago when I didn't have a job I preferred to have phone interviews on a landline instead of a cell to prevent a situation where the phone cuts off during the interview
