I have about a 50% success rate with mail in rebates. 50% of the time I get the rebate and the other 50% of the time it is like a black hole. You send it in and never hear anything again. Last summer I sent in one rebate to Amerigas and got a $3 rebate and one for Blue Rhino and recieved nothing. At the end of January Nutro had a get a free bag of dog food mail in rebate (worth $30) and so far nothing. I am planning to call them and if I don't get a satisfactory anwser I will start reporting them to the BBB, FTC, and state's AG.
Has anyone else experienced this 50% success rate?
I've never, ever had trouble with one- I always get them, 100% of the time. It is painfully slow, taking about 2 months most of the time- but I do always get them.
Gave them up about ten years ago when they were unreliable and were starting to become an invasion of privacy. Last one I attempted was a Directv amount as a pay to switch to them. Even though they know full well I switched and when and all the details, they demand a final invoice from Dish, which Dish never wanted to send. After trying three times I gave up. Karma will out in the end though. Both companies will die horrible deaths from online streaming.
