I haven't counted, but I'd guess 20-25 channels.

2 NBC
2 ABC
2 CBS
4 PBS
3 or 4 Fox
A couple of religious and a couple of Hispanic.
A few kids.
HSN and QVC.

If you go here and plug in your zip code or city, you should be able to see the over-the-air channels available to you. Just change to your area.

I discontinued Direct TV about 3 years ago and have never regretted it. The entertainment value of it had been declining for years. The cost had been going up. They pump the paid programming at the times when the working class folks are home. They figure they need to direct that stuff to the people with money to spend. Also, too much of the programming has violence in it. Too many shootings. Not good stuff for anyone to watch.

With an HD TV antenna, we get about 30 channels. The best tv are the channels that play the old movies and the old family t.v. shows. There is a a lot of non violent, just for fun stuff available. You can also get the local news if you want your fill of shootings, fires, and car wrecks. Also, can get the weather weather forecast. Public television has some pretty good shows. In addition, there is a lot of home and garden stuff. Seems like we watch a lot less tv because of the internet.

I called Comcast to completely cancel all my services (internet and TV) about a year ago. I was going to get internet through another company who charged less and do without TV. This is when the representative told me that Comcast "overlooked" a discount I was supposed to receive from Comcast because my HOA covers part of the bill. Yeah..... "overlooked".....more like: "lets see how long we can overcharge this guy without him realizing. like we try to do to every one of our customers."
This is legal thievery at its best folks.

So now I pay only $39/month for: Cable, DVR, Fastest internet Comcast has (have to give them credit on this at least, internet service is excellent) and all applicable taxes. So I can't justify canceling anymore but I still hate them because of the principles

I could fill an entire page of threads with tales of stupid interactions I've had with Comcast (and I use this term VERY loosely) "Customer Service" people. Fired them a few years ago and will never go back.

Our satellite internet is going in a few days and the satellite television is going in a week and I will be so happy when all of that mess is over and the satellite dishes can be taken out of our front yard.

I have a Leaf antenna. $28. I get 61 channels. If you subtract the shopping, religious, kids, and Spanish I get 20.

Congratulations Rocco. We cut ours off almost 4 years ago. We just have an antenna and Roku. The only thing I pay for is $7.99 a month for Netflix. I love it. And I DO NOT miss cable or satellite.

Why would you have a DVR if you don't have TV?

That link took me to a "domain for sale" site
Sorry, I think they changed their URL to, http://tubtub.com/ This site carries a lot of older classic tv shows.
