I used to be big fan of Palmolive. It lasted and lasted and lasted for doing dishes, on a sponge.
Well, something changed. Now same squirt of it on sponge lasts 2 plates and is gone. Which is good for Palmolive, except that for the price paid for it, I'd rather not waste my money on it.
Anyone suggests a working alternative? I don't care about scents and looks. I care about useful span so it needs to be lasting on that sponge and doing it's job.
Also, please, spare me "use dishwasher" wisdom. We done eating, we wash our plates and utensils. That's it.
Thank you

Dawn. It really does cut through grease.

Yeah, but it's not the issue of cutting through grease.
My concern is that Palmolive was lasting on the sponge for long time, allowing quite a few dishes to be washed with one squirt.
Now, it washes off same sponge after basically 2 plates.
It's not the cleaning power I am inquiring about, it's the detergent longevity on the sponge. I used to do a pile with Palmolive, and leave sponge in the sink, knowing that it will still have enough soap in it to do a few more cups.
It simply appears to be badly diluted now.

I usually buy whichever is on the lowest sale, both seem to be the same to me really..

For the money, Palmolive is still the best. Other brands = no suds.

Do you have a water softener that needs recharging?

I love Dawn, but I am a fill up the sink and do the dishes person.

And sponges are gross. I use a hunk of nylon scrubby net -- I can shake the food particles out of it and dry it in seconds. Bye bye bacteria! Couple of months later -- toss it and pick up new piece. Just saying. Buy it by the yard at Joanns with a coupon, lasts for a year -- look for the word "scrubby" on the bolt in the nylon net/tulle department.

I also stopped buying Palmolive -- even free with coupons, I won't use it -- it doesn't last at all. Dawn is still good for a long time.

Unfortunately the freebie deals for Dawn have dried up (hah hah hah). When the grocery stores had their occasional special sales on the small bottles for 99 cents, you could use the 50-cent coupon, double it, and get a free small bottle. That coupon now says it excludes the 9 oz bottle (the small one). Companies are jerks.

ive gotten a bunch of Palmolive free with coupons. they made it tougher now since the latest coupons from them wont allow you to use them on the 9oz sizes. but it lasts pretty long since we primarily use the dishwasher.
