Hi my iPhone 4S is close to 4 years old. The hardware is sound. However, Apple's system of perpetual "updates" are forcing it into obsolescence.
Yea, that is an issue my older iphone 3, still works as a phone but forget downloading apps anymore. I use that phone as a backup/ test phone for 2nd tier providers. The battery charge doesn't last long anymore but for occasional use it's ok
We have one that old. I'm not sure I'd refer to it as having heavy use. I used it to take pictures and text once in a while. It was kept in an OtterBox and looked like new when it was handed down to my child at Christmas.
my Iphone 4S works pretty well. sometimes the internet or an app might randomly close but that is infrequent. I also keep it in a sturdy case and haven't dropped it
I am due for an "upgrade" but if I am forced to pay for a new phone I will just keep this one
Not an I-phone, but a smart phone. It started acting badly. The salesclerk says that the phone no longer has enough storage for the massive size updates that get sent out all the time.
It's a sort of built-in obsolescence so that customers have to buy new phones.
I'm tired of it so replaced the expensive phone with a flip phone that doesn't do any tricks at all. Then I also got a tablet hooked into the cell phone account in case I need the phone for anything internet related.
I had a BB for 5 years (and I had bought it used too). I dropped it may be 30 times in those 5 years. When I dropped it last half of the screen (diagonally) turned black. I still used it for a few more weeks before I bought a new one.
