Just wondering if anyone has used Jet.com to buy groceries and household items. I took a look at their site briefly and some of the things look to be cheaper than what I pay now and shipping is free when you buy over $35 worth of stuff.

I'm trying to stay out of the grocery store as much as possible--- It would give me an extra hour/wk to spend with family that I would have spent shopping.

If not Jet.com, are there other sites that you use that are similar?

Yes we've done several large Jet orders, each time with discounts. Two at 25%, two at 20% now. Has worked out well and we've saved a decent chunk. You have to use a different CC number in order to use the same discount again.

Just placed an order yesterday and its already been shipped!

Great price---two boxes of Crest white strips for $53, including free shipping! Usually those strips run ~ $60/box! We used the 15% off code as well. Thanks to AP for tip to use a different CC if using the code again! I am placing a big order next time!

I pulled about 20 grocery items off of my Fry's Supermarket (Kroger's) and compared to Jet.com prices and I saw only higher prices.

I think people accept all of the hype about these different websites without doing the research.

I also did a quick comparison with some items I bought last weekend at the supermarket.

Overall, I did not see any real savings using Jet to the point I would say wow! At best Jet has some small savings on some items, but when they are overpriced, they are over priced! Overall their prices didn't impress me with all the hype of savings, it just wasn't there. Although the 25% off coupon appeared to lower the cost, in the end, it just brought their higher prices down to about what I would pay in the store. I'm sure it will work for many and there could be savings, just not worth it for me (not to mention I can also get my fresh produce and refrigerated items at the same time).

Tried it with a 25% code and found some good prices - flaxseed meal and my fav chocolate bars (prices were already cheaper than at the stores) plus a Lodge cast iron pan which was the same price as AMZ but a steal at 25% off + shipped free.

I wouldn't just assume things are cheaper. If there are things you buy repeatedly anyway, it'd be easy to spot deals.

Thanks, guys! I think after comparing costs, I am going to start using Kroger's new pickup program. It's where we do the majority of the shopping. I hate fighting the traffic in their parking lot, but it will be a short amount of time to bear, I guess.

Thanks again!

In my opinion, Jet.com is only worthwhile if you lots of time to research prices.

1. I have found their selection to be very limited. One of the reasons that I buy a lot from Jeff Bezos is that his store has a huge selection.
2. I have found good pricing on a few items (no sales tax, free shipping, coupon) with Jet vs Amazon or Walmart.
3. To me, the effort is just not worth it. I won't be buying from Jet again.

Agree on that. It was a bit of effort to find something that Jet carries plus price is cheaper than my normal avenues. I did it because if the 25% cpn and novelty factor. Without them now, I may check them out once in a blue moon.
