I pay about 25.00 a month with PagePlus 1200 talk, 1200 text and 1 gb of data. I buy my 29.95 monthly plans on Ebay when I have Ebay Buck deals so usually end up paying about 25.00 a month.

There is also Ringplus which gives free cell phone service. I need to look more into that but right now, I can't use my Note 5 phone on it. I love my phone but when it dies, I'll be doing the Ringplus.

Tracfone prepaid. Works out to be $17.50 a month for 350 minutes per month (with rollover), 500 texts a month with rollover and 500 meg of data with rollover. If you want to buy more data it's $10 per gig (4g LTE) with no expiration date. I bought 5 gig in April, still have 3.5 Gig left.

I can't believe people are calling $40 a month as cheap.

Bougt a brnad new 5.5" Blu Vivo XL Android for $140. It's awesome.

Sounds like a pretty good deal but I live in the cuts and most major cell phone carriers cannot get good reception here. (metro, sprint, T Mobile and maybe ATT) I have verizon and i have no problem getting signal and data signal where I live. My other friends who come over can never get signal.

Tracfone is a reseller of Verizon, ATT, and T-Mobile. You can use your Verizon phone and port your number over. You will be using Verizon towers, although there will be slight differences from Verizon postpaid service. Data speed is throttled to 5 Mb down, there is no voice roaming, and I believe the coverage is that of Vz prepaid service.

edit: I was checking out the cell phone plans and I am really data heavy. I don't know if these plans are ideal for me.

You can have both!

I use my own high end Android phone (Moto X Pure Edition 2015), on the VZW network, through Tracfone. My yearly cost for the amount of cell service I use is about $80. That's right. $80. Actually I rounded up, it's more like $78.

I already was using Google Voice for years, back when it was GrandCentral. My txts are thru Google Voice as well. When I have wifi that's what I use, which I have at least 95% of the time.

You can add on a 1 GB data card for $10, which never expires, if that helps.

For a monthly prepaid plan, call customer service and say you're thinking of canceling and switching to another provider. When I went to cancel my Virgin Mobile service (was going on my credit car to get a discount so I couldn't just stop paying) they offered something like $17-$18 a month to stay.

Since my biggest issue was the Sprint network they use, which is mediocre to terrible around here, I ended up declining, but I can't be the only one offered that kind of cheap.

I only pay 50 a month but that includes mobile hot spot, enough data, and unlimited talk and text. While those other options are intriguing, I think i may play it safe and stick with my plan....for now. Plus i get great reception here while the other carriers dont
