We purchased 20 acres in an off grid town located off of a dangerous road, hence one reason why it is so cheap. A year round spring, a mine we haven't located yet (so could be caved in) and it is bordered by Govt land.

We will rent out a few RV's but aside from that and growing a Vege Garden, does anyone have any ideas how to make this land pay for itself??

We want to keep the trees intact, because we moved due to breathing issues. The terrain is 5 acres of fairly flat land, warm- hot summers and a little snow during the wintertime. It is located in Northern California

We have health issue so will not be making more than $30,000 per year for now on. Our house payment after we build a tiny home (it is zoned for a 280 sq ft, 2brdm/1 bath) will be less than $50 a month. We have no retirement savings due to paying off past medical issues so need to really get on the ball.

Thanks for any ideas you all may have I appreciate your time.

Insurance and liability costs are astronomical. Plus the environmental lead abatement are costly.

As people give suggestions, know that the OP said this about the land in another post...

That land was cheap for a reason!

No matter what you try from paint ball to breeding game animals - it will require investment.

I spent a lot of time in the Sierra Nevadas as a teenager and I have explored many old mines. you may need to get a topo map of your region, it will show the location of the mine entrance.

CarolinaM, I think I recognize you from another forum!

Someone IRL suggested raising animals, like goats. I don't know, but I may look into it.

You bought land in an off grid area, that's on a dangerous road and also has a mine on it? Like others have said it was cheap for a reason. To make money off of you most likely you will have to put some money into it. As Petunia suggest we raised goats for some time and it was fairly easy until 3 dogs killed 3/4 of our goats in one evening
