Candy. I refuse to buy junky chocolate candy. Dove, Ghirardelli, Hershey, etc. are so much better than the dollar store and discount store brands.

Aldi sometimes has the quite good imported German and Belgian chocolate under their own label for very reasonable prices. Their German overlords don't like junky chocolate either.

I get my Lindt Chocolates and Ghiradelli chocolates at the 99 Only store. Much better than the Hershey stuff. Agree that the Aldi chocolates are as good as any.

Some name brands that I always buy are:

Folger's Black Silk Coffee
Seattle's Best 3 Decaf
Hellmann's Mayo

Beneful Dog Food and Pupcorn treats

Bic Soleil Disposable razors
Schick Hydro Blades
Matrix Hair Color
Reach Floss

Soft Scrub
Mr. Clean cleaner…love the scent of the green one.
Sponges…but even the name brand ones have gotten cheaper
Scott septic safe toilet tissue

Also chocolate for me. I do not like the cheap off brand ones at all. I did buy a bar from Aldi one time and it was pretty good. Sadly no Aldi's near me.

Good to know about Aldi chocolate. The Trader Joe 1 pound chocolate bar is also pretty good.

I agree about cleaning products. Expect for bleach or bleach-spray and glass cleaner, I don't think I have any generic cleaning products.

For store brand cereal, some are OK, although usually name brand is better. The quality of "their" cereal really varies from store to store.

I have had good luck with store brand potato/tortilla chips. Target's are good. One local supermarket's "brand" of chips says that they're made for them by Utz, and they're just as good as the "real" Utz products.

Other store brand things I will buy:
organic milk, creamer
organic butter
canned veggies
Ibuprofen, acetaminophen, aspirin

Store brands I won't buy:
yogurt
coffee
frozen waffles (only Eggos will do!)
cheese

Mitchum deodorant----the only brand I will use. Who wants to find out another brand doesn't work?

Clinique facial soap---it doesn't irritate my sensitive face. There again, when you've found something that works, don't change it!

Every Aldi I've ever been in routinely carries quality European chocolate.

Actually, I notice whenever name brand stuff is on sale, it's cheaper than the generic store brand. At least by me it is.

Generic TP is pretty awful.
