Only buy doing 4 errands at a time ...instead of going back all over again the next day.
The difference between a couple of cents on 10 gallons is 20 cents...so the price
of 4 cents per gallon just does not make that much difference...not the way I tip a waiter!
These 30-40cents extra I may pay in a year by not driving around more...
totals to 5.40 extra...I think that's ok.

And yours is possibly still more than mine, and I DON'T work out of the home.

1998 with about 80k miles, but I drove it back and forth to college for 3 years in another state at least once a month, and I've been on a 2000 mile road trip in it once also. These days I drive about 2500 a year. My husband's is a 2006 with about 35k miles on it, so he drives a little more than I do, but not much.

I currently only put in shells or cheveron BUT since those prices are 3.30 a gallon for supreme, im considering an alternative....sams club gas or equivalent. That would only set me back at 2.79 per gallon for their highest grade of gas.

Do you think there's a difference between Shell's gas and Sams club gas or is all gasoline stations equal? Do you even care which gas stations you go to?
Do you drive a car that actually recommends using premium fuel? If so good for you, if not you're wasting your money.

I don't drive out of my way for gas. It doesn't make sense for me. Most of my trips are five miles or less. I usually drive less than 7500 miles per year. My 2010 vehicle has less than 60,000 miles on it. It's either grocery shopping or running kids around and not the most efficient gas mileage. The kids could ride the bus more to school, but the bus stops are mainly inconvenient and one of the bus drivers is really mean. I go through about a tank per week. Gas was $1.99/gallon the other day when I filled up.

My area is still developing. We might do a little more bike riding to get places when it becomes a little safer with more stoplights and more sidewalks.

It's something we appreciate as well. I think about 80-90% of the times I've heard of someone having a credit card number stolen, if it can be traced back, the point of fraud was at a gas station.

Costco is never cheaper, at least in my town, We use an independent dealer just up the hill. I do check gas buddy.com from time to time, to make sure, that they are still the cheapest.
